WESTRANS was founded in 1967, initially selling rebuilt transmissions and differentials out of a small facility in Winnipeg, MB. The upstart company’s ambitious vision would soon outgrow these humble beginnings, however, as WESTRANS moved to position itself as a major truck parts distributor and brake & power train remanufacturer in the Canadian market. Throughout the 70's WESTRANS expanded its presence in the Canadian market, eventually shifting operations to a larger office  in Winnipeg.

In 1981, WESTRANS headquarters in Winnipeg moved again, this time into a 61,400 square foot facility, in order to meet the widening scope of the operation. The following two decades saw even greater expansion, as the company launched distribution centers in Thunder Bay (1984), Regina (1990),, and recently, Saskatoon (2003). In all, WESTRANS now boasts four locations across three provinces, each offering customers a complete “one-stop shop” environment, and servicing their respective rural regions via a  unique parts delivery service.

Throughout its evolution, the company has been able to maintain and foster long-term customer relationships, some upwards of 30 years. This success is due to WESTRANS’ dedicated team of employees who have worked hard to establish the company as a touchstone of reliability, assurance, and efficiency in the industry. Today, the WESTRANS team continues to provide  customers with an unparalleled service experience by facilitating their unique needs wherever possible. It is this commitment to excellence which has made WESTRANS “Your Brake & Power Train Specialists” for over 40 years!
