Westrans is a remanufacturer and supplier of parts in the heavy duty truck industry, who is looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our service bay. We are looking for a key individual that would like the opportunity to grow with our company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Westrans specializes in heavy duty drivelines. Experience with transmissions is an asset.
• Carry out diagnostics, maintenance, and necessary repairs to trucks and trailers.
• Maintain regular communication with the manager regarding repairs, status, and concerns.
• Work as part of a team to support the daily needs of the shop.

Qualifications:

• Certified for MPI Safety Inspections
• Must have minimum level 2 certification
• Driver’s license is required, with air considered an asset
• Truck and transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement an asset

Westrans remanufactures many different parts such as drive shafts, differentials, clutches, power steering gears, transmissions, transfer cases and much more. Our remanufacturing work goes beyond basic repair; it involves dissembling parts to its core and rebuilding it until the part meets or exceeds the performance of a new part that was originally installed in the vehicle.

Responsibilities:

• Prepping, grinding, drilling, and machining different parts.
• Rebuilding drive shafts, differentials, and other parts as needed.
• Heavy lifting is required up to 50lbs.
• Estimating costs of repairs.
• Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy.
• Maintain safe working areas and equipment.
• Perform general warehouse duties.

Qualifications:

• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with and around different machinery.
• Knowledge of measuring tools as well as basic math.
• Welding is considered an asset.
• Good physical health.
• Be able to work individually but also in a team environment.
• Be a team player with good communication skills.
• Must be comfortable with using large machinery and pneumatic tools.
• Have your own hand tools – preferred.
• Have a positive work attitude and is conscientious about punctuality.
